St Luke’s Green, Woolloongabba, home to Brisbane’s most vibrant seniors community, was officially opened and blessed on Sunday the 10th of September 2017. It was a beautiful morning and the sun was shining as residents of the Retirement Village and Aged Care Home, and members of the local community met on the Village Green for a day of celebration.
Spring is just around the corner, and this quarter’s Village Green is in bloom with all of the latest news from the Greengate Villages. A lot has been happening at our Retirement Villages and Boutique Aged Care Homes these past few months. As usual, our residents have been busy bees with plenty of social events and activities to attend. The Greengate team and residents are all looking forward to our upcoming events now that the weather is starting to warm up – hopefully we will see you there!
We had an amazing turnout for the re-opening of the stunning St Luke's Church. On the Feast of Corpus Christi, the church opened its doors for Mass. Residents from St Luke's Green and the local Brisbane community were all excited to get a first-hand look at the restored church - it's safe to say the church didn't disappoint! Not only was it a beautiful morning and ceremony, but it was fantastic to see everyone come together to "Venite Adoremus", which are the words written above the entrance to the church.

Winter is well and truly here, and this quarter's Village Green is as fresh as those winter mornings. Greengate has seen a lot of excitement this past quarter, with St Luke’s Green, Woolloongabba opening its doors in April. It’s been a pleasure getting to know our latest residents better as they settle into their new homes in the Independent Retirement Apartments and the Residential Aged Care Home.
We can’t believe the day is finally here! This week we had our first residents officially move in to St Luke’s Green, Woolloongabba, which is looking more beautiful than we could have wished for. While our Retirement Living residents settle in to their new homes, staff training has begun for the Aged Care team. The atmosphere here in Brisbane is buzzing. There’s still lots to do, but one thing is for sure: everyone is excited.
We’re so glad that it’s Autumn, with the change of season bringing some much needed cooler weather and this quarter's edition of the Village Green. As always, the Greengate offices have been a hub of activity. With St Luke’s Green in Woolloongabba soon to open, and everything full-steam ahead on-site at St Patrick’s Green, the time has just flown by.
As we move even closer to completion, you can feel the excitement in the air here at St Luke's Green. Our staff have been busy trying to get everything organised and ready for the big move-in date in April - we can't believe the day is nearly here! Seeing progress shots like these makes it all worthwhile though, and you can already see why St Luke's Green is going to be Woolloongabba's most vibrant seniors' community.
As scaffolding comes down, more of our beautiful little village in a big city is revealed. This picture shows just how close St Luke's Green is to the city of Brisbane and how we have merged seamlessly into the character-filled streets and neighbourhood of Woolloongabba.
