2019: The Year of Music at St Luke's Green

Now that 2019 is well and truly underway, we have started planning our upcoming events at St Luke’s Green, Woolloongabba. All of us here in Brisbane are looking forward to another vibrant and fulfilling year in our little village in a big city.

This year we are excited to be hosting a monthly series of Intimate ‘music, conversation & coffee’ concert events. Our community is well-known for our warmth and hospitality, and also for the beautiful, heritage-listed church that stands proud in the centre of our village – the stunning church is the venue for our Saturday afternoon concerts. We’re looking forward to welcoming seniors from the local area to these events, so they can get a taste of what village life is all about here at St Luke’s Green. After all, the warmth, genuineness and serenity of our community is the main reason why Brisbane seniors choose to move to our village.
Our first event, held on Saturday, the 16th of February, was a celebration of love. We were honoured to once again host Angel Strings: a string quartet who are passionate about creating beautiful music in as many contexts as possible. While regularly performing a broad classical repertoire, Angel Strings have developed a reputation for their edgy renditions of modern works and pop/rock arrangements. As to be expected from these world-renowned artists, our residents and guests were completely blown away and the end of every song was met with a large round of applause.
The second concert in the series will be held on Saturday, the 16th of March at 2pm. At the time of writing, the musicians are yet to be confirmed, so please call us on 07 3129 9075 or email to register your interest for our upcoming ‘music, conversation & coffee’ events at St Luke’s Green, Woolloongabba.
