After many years of planning and anticipation, the first sod was turned at St Luke's Green on Sunday 8th March. The ceremony was celebrated by Rev Mgr Peter Meneely, Vicar General Archdiocese of Brisbane and Administrator of St Luke's - Buranda Parish. More than 60 people attended this momentous event including prospective residents, local parishioners from St Luke's and nearby parishes, representatives from the Archdiocese of Brisbane and other stakeholders.
"St Luke's Green values the trust that we have been given by the parishioners of St Luke's church and the Archdiocese of Brisbane, the broader community and prospective residents. We are building a community, not just a set of buildings, and this community will be a safe haven for all those who call St Luke's Green home." said Cheryl Todd, Sales and Marketing Manager.
Following the site blessing and sod turning, guests enjoyed morning tea and the old school hall was abuzz in celebration of the commencement of St Luke's Green.
