We can’t believe the day is finally here! This week we had our first residents officially move in to St Luke’s Green, Woolloongabba, which is looking more beautiful than we could have wished for. While our Retirement Living residents settle in to their new homes, staff training has begun for the Aged Care team. The atmosphere here in Brisbane is buzzing. There’s still lots to do, but one thing is for sure: everyone is excited.
When you walk up to St Luke’s Green, the first thing you notice is the Spanish Mission style church. The village is centred around this lovely church which has been restored over the past few months. The grounds have been landscaped and feature a large jacaranda and plenty of palm trees – the village green really captures the spirit of Queensland. The next thing you notice is the white picket fences which surround the independent living apartments. St Luke’s Green is modern whilst still feeling homey; it really is an intimate little village in the big city of Brisbane.
For our residents moving into the retirement living apartments, it has been a big change, with many having to downsize. Here at Greengate, we want this transition to be as smooth as possible, and we were glad to see that the apartments eased these nerves all on their own. During the pre-move in inspections, many arrived feeling anxious about the big move, but left feeling excited and ready to be a part of the vibrant St Luke’s Green community
. The finishes in the apartments are classy and clever, and we encourage you to come and look at our display if you’d like to check them out.
We’ve loved being able to welcome so many new members to the team at St Luke’s Green. Our Boutique Aged Care Home opens in May, so this week we have started training the care team so that they will be equipped to cater to everyone’s individual care needs. Each floor of the Aged Care Home has a different colour theme and features stylish furniture to create a hotel vibe. Also on every level, is a balcony which looks out onto the church and across the grounds, and there are even some pet birds in the courtyard. St Luke’s Green Aged Care Home is a lovely place to relax, and all of the care team is excited for the opening in May.
